The “Lixin Zhuiguang” trade union salon series is a signature brand activity created by the School of Physics to meet the spiritual and cultural needs of its faculty and staff. It aims to strengthen team cohesion, cultivate a humanistic atmosphere, and build a spiritual and cultural platform for communication, relaxation, and mutual progress through diverse recreational and sports activities.
Hosted by the School of Physics Labor Union and organized by the Basic Teaching Research Center, the first “Lixin Zhuiguang” Fun Sports Meeting was joyfully held on June 5 in the courtyard of the Science Building. All faculty and staff participated enthusiastically, enjoying themselves and competing side by side in light-hearted sports events.
Four teams were assembled for this event: the School Administrative Office, the Basic Teaching Research Center, the Photonics Science and Technology Research Center, and the Physics Research Center. Teaming up flexibly and cooperating with tacit understanding, everyone took on four major fun events in turn. The dart competition featured precision challenges combining two modes of play — darts and axe throwing — with men and women competing in separate groups, testing eyesight and accuracy. The nine-square frisbee toss was full of fun; each person had three attempts, and the scene was filled with continuous laughter. The pickleball bounce battle was timed for one minute, with players steadying their rhythm and competing with all their strength. The “Invincible Wind Fire Wheel” put teamwork to the test — three people in a group moved forward in coordination, and all members sprinted toward the finish line as one. Each event combined fun, interactivity, and competitiveness, creating a fiercely “spicy” atmosphere on the field.
The competition adopted a points system. Points were awarded according to rankings in each event, and the final awards were determined by the cumulative total scores of all events. After a joyful contest, the Physics Research Center team secured the championship with steady performance and outstanding coordination. The Photonics Science and Technology Research Center followed closely to take second place, the Basic Teaching Research Center won third place, and the School Administrative Office ranked fourth. At the event, honorary certificates and exquisite prizes were also presented to the winning teams, bringing this joyful competition to a successful close.
Sports never stop, and the joy continues. This event was the first new attempt hosted by the school labor union and organized by a grassroots academic unit. It was carried out smoothly and achieved remarkable results. The activity allowed all faculty and staff to temporarily set aside work pressure, release vitality, and strengthen friendships through sports. It also accumulated valuable experience for subsequent labor union activities. Everyone expressed that the event enriched their leisure time and further enhanced their sense of collective belonging.
