On April 30, Meng Ting, Party Secretary of the College, Wang Xuchen, a national-level talent, Zhang Xiaojun, Assistant to the Dean, and faculty representative Li Yuxiang visited relevant enterprises in Yangzhou to conduct a special survey on industry-university-research cooperation. The survey aimed to thoroughly implement the concept of industry-education integration and collaborative education, and to precisely align with the needs of enterprises with distinctive industrial characteristics.
I. Visit to State-owned Factory 5308: Aligning with Military Needs and Jointly Building an Optoelectronic Platform
At State-owned Factory 5308, General Manager Wei Xiaoyu, Director Xin Chao of the Laser Equipment R&D Division, other heads of key departments, and representatives of Harbin Engineering University alumni working at the factory warmly received the visiting team.
Wei Xiaoyu accompanied Meng Ting and the team to visit the company's achievements exhibition hall, and gave a detailed introduction to the enterprise's R&D achievements centered on laser technology in military equipment fields such as precision guidance, electro-optical countermeasures, and command and control, as well as its future plans for advanced materials, the optoelectronic industry, and quantum photonics applications. Wei Xiaoyu expressed the hope to take this exchange as an opportunity to further deepen cooperation between the university and the enterprise in areas such as laser detection and guidance, innovative applications of cutting-edge quantum photonics technologies, and joint talent cultivation.
At the symposium, Meng Ting introduced the College's strengths in fundamental research fields including fiber lasers, mid-infrared materials, and optical fiber sensing, and proposed leveraging the industrial platform advantages of State-owned Factory 5308 to closely align the College's scientific research with real industry needs, promote the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, jointly tackle "bottleneck" technologies, and collaboratively cultivate high-level talent.
The two sides held in-depth discussions on topics such as deepening university-enterprise cooperation, promoting scientific and technological innovation, and building a mechanism for collaborative talent cultivation. They agreed that there is strong complementarity in fields such as optical fiber sensing, quantum photonic detection, and electromagnetic stealth materials. In the future, both sides will focus on key technological directions, jointly build an industry-university-research cooperation platform, and promote the deep integration of research and industry.
II. Visits to Multiple Enterprises in Baoying: Focusing on Technical Pain Points and Landing Cooperation Projects

In Baoying County, Yangzhou, the research team successively visited Yangzhou Baoyu Optoelectronics Co., Ltd., Jiangsu Toubo Optoelectronic Technology Co., Ltd., Jiangsu Younite Cable Co., Ltd., and Jiangsu Zhongru Metal Technology Co., Ltd. The two sides carried out in-depth exchanges on technical topics such as optical device production and inspection, optoelectronic chip packaging and integration, cable electromagnetic shielding, and new energy battery assembly inspection and positioning. They reached preliminary cooperation intentions in areas including professional master's internships and practice, and the implementation of industry-university-research projects. All participants agreed that a regular "university-enterprise-government" tripartite communication mechanism should be established to facilitate the swift implementation of cooperation intentions and generate sustained momentum for collaborative innovation.
This survey built a bridge for cooperation between the College and enterprises in Yangzhou. In the next step, the College will continue to promote regular university-enterprise exchanges, focus on "bottleneck" technological challenges, carry out joint research and collaborative education, and better serve national defense construction and high-quality economic and social development.
