On August 30th, the fifth Large Area Glass Scintillator Collaboration Group Meeting was held in the school. This conference was organized by the College of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering. From Institute of High Energy Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Harbin Engineering University, Beijing Glass Research Institute, China Building Materials Academy, China Jiliang University, Jinggangshan University, Harbin Institute of Technology, Sichuan University, Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shanghai Institute of Ceramics,Chinese Academy of Sciences, CNNC Beijing Nuclear Instrument Factory, eleven member units of more than 30 representatives to attend the meeting. Academician Wang Yifang, director of Institute of High Energy Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, attended the meeting online, fully affirmed the achievements made since the establishment of the cooperation group, and sent his sincere wishes and hopes for the meeting.
President Liu Zhihai and Vice President Meng Ting of College of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering attended the meeting. At the meeting, Professor Ren Jing introduced the latest progress of Harbin Engineering University in scintillation glass, and Dr. Zhu Yao introduced the research results of the college in radiation detection optical fiber.
During the conference, College of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering and Institute of High Energy Physics reached consensus on promoting the construction of high-level physics disciplines and the joint training of outstanding graduate students.
Large Area Glass Scintillator Collaboration Group (hereinafter referred to as: GS Group) is to meet the next generation of large electron-positron collider large scientific device, particle physics experiment and nuclear detection field urgent need of scintillation glass, led by Institute of High Energy Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, domestic advantage universities, research institutes and enterprises jointly established with cooperation group. Studies include: scintillation glass formulation optimization, performance standard formulation, batch preparation and production, and application technology development, etc. Professor Zhang Jianzhong and Professor Ren Jing's team, as one of the members, for a long time, adhere to the optical glass and optical fiber original innovation, mechanism analysis, performance optimization and application expansion research, concontributed valuable experience in scintillation glass and optical fiber formulation design, controllable preparation and performance enhancement, independently developed the current highest light yield cerium -doped microcrystalline glass scintillator, write a special invited review for " The United Nations International Year of Glass"; together with the team members, we developed high optical quality (no bubbles) with high density and high light yield, Some performance indicators can meet the requirements of scientific apparatus.
