On May 27, in the 2023 National College Physics Basic Course Young Teachers Teaching Competition in Heilongjiang Province, our teacher Liu Yanlei won the first prize.

The National College Physics Basic Course Teaching Competition for Young Teachers is an authoritative competition in the field of physics teaching in colleges and universities in China. This competition in Heilongjiang Province is co-sponsored by the College Physics Teaching Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education and Heilongjiang Physics Society, and hosted by the College of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering of Harbin Engineering University. It was held on May 27 in the 21B3082 Wisdom Classroom of Harbin Engineering University.

The meeting was presided over by Meng Ting, Vice president of the College of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering, Tian Hao, director of the Physics Society of Heilongjiang Province, Executive Dean of the School of Physics of Harbin Institute of Technology, Gao Feng, Secretary of the Party Committee of the College of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering of Harbin Engineering University, and teachers from 10 universities including Harbin Institute of Technology, Harbin Engineering University, Northeast Forestry University, Heilongjiang University and Qiqihar University participated in the competition. Teachers from other colleges and universities in the province participated in the on-site observation.

Each participating teacher drew lots from 61 questions to determine the specific competition title, and teacher Liu Yanlei of our school drew "conductor in electrostatic field". With only 1 hour to prepare the lesson, Teacher Liu Yanlei gave the basic concepts in a simple way, skillfully combined the historical background and scientific application to give the application of physics knowledge in modern engineering, the class was clear and logical, which was praised by the judges and experts, and fully demonstrated the teaching ability and professional quality of teachers of Harbin Engineering. It has played a positive role in further stimulating the teaching enthusiasm of front-line teachers, promoting teaching reform and building first-class public basic courses.

After fierce competition, there were 3 first prizes, 4 second prizes and 3 third prizes. The winner of the first prize will represent the teachers of colleges and universities in Heilongjiang Province to participate in the national college Physics Basic young teachers teaching competition in the three provinces of Northeast China.

The participating teachers said that the teaching competition can effectively stimulate and encourage young teachers to participate in the teaching of basic physics courses, improve the teaching level, and promote the reform of teaching content and teaching methods and the exchange of teaching experience. Meanwhile, the participating teachers also expressed their admiration for the use experience of smart classrooms in our school, which can effectively assist teachers to complete diversified classroom teaching.
