On November 26 and 27, 2022, the School of Physics and Optoelectronics Engineering held the 7th School sub-forum of "Xinghai Forum" of young scholars at home and abroad of Harbin Engineering University through online conference. Professor Liu Zhihai, President of the College, Professor Sun Weimin, Secretary of the Party Committee, Professor Shi Jinhui, Vice President, Professor Zhang Yu, head of the college's basic academic organization, talent introduction specialist and some faculty representatives attended the forum online. 24 doctors from universities and institutes at home and abroad made wonderful academic exchange reports online, and 5 young scholars reached preliminary intention with the school. The forum was chaired by Vice President Zhang Yu.

On November 26, Secretary Sun Weimin delivered the opening speech for the Forum. In his speech, Secretary Sun first expressed the warm welcome to the outstanding talents at home and abroad and made a detailed introduction to the basic situation of the school and the policy of talent introduction, and made a detailed introduction to the development history of the school, basic overview, teachers, scientific research, personnel training, foreign exchanges and other aspects. Secretary Sun Weimin also said that the College is organizing a talent work conference to increase the introduction and cultivation of talents, help the introduction of outstanding young teachers, and invite talents at home and abroad to join the College of Physics, jointly contribute to the modernization of national defense and national economic and social development, explore the "reason" to find "light", only waiting for you to come! Then, Vice President Zhang Yu made a detailed interpretation of the conditions, benefits and security policies for the introduction of outstanding young talents, post-doctoral innovative talents and other talents.

The speakers came from Sweden's Royal Institute of Technology, Germany's Technical University of Munich, Russia's University of Optics and Machines, UK's University of Southampton, Australia's University of Technology Sydney and other well-known universities at home and abroad. The speaker made wonderful reports on quantum optics, optical engineering, optical materials, biophotonics and so on. In addition, through the in-depth exchanges at the Xinghai Forum, the school reached an initial entry intention with 5 outstanding doctors from different research institutes.
