On April 24, Pang Na, Deputy Director of the Satellite Communications Division under the Communications Invention Examination Department of the Patent Office, China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA), visited the School of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering. She conducted in-depth exchanges with faculty members of the school on high-value patent cultivation. Liu Zhihai, Dean of the School, Zhang Yu, Vice Dean, along with a number of professors and associate professors, attended the forum.

At the forum, drawing on the national intellectual property strategy and the technical characteristics of the communications field, Pang Na elaborated on the cultivation pathways, application strategies, and achievement transformation experience of high-value patents. She emphasized that universities, as crucial hubs for scientific and technological innovation, should enhance patent quality and optimize patent layout, so as to promote the transformation of research findings into practical productive forces. During the meeting, the two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on patent layout, technological innovation, and the disciplinary development of the school.

Liu Zhihai expressed gratitude for Pang Na’s professional guidance, noting that this exchange had provided the school with valuable practical experience in intellectual property, which would offer important inspiration and guidance for the school’s future research planning and high-level patent cultivation. He stated that the school would take this exchange and learning opportunity, orient itself towards serving national strategic needs, make forward-looking and proactive layout, and continuously advance the in-depth integration of scientific and technological innovation and intellectual property development.

This forum laid a solid foundation for the School of Physics to deepen industry-university-research cooperation and strengthen awareness of intellectual property protection, and also provided new ideas for subsequent industry-university collaborative innovation. Participating faculty members all indicated that they had benefited greatly from the event, and they would further optimize patent layout in combination with their respective research directions to support the high-quality development of the school.
