From November 7 to 9, at the National Finals of the 4th China Postgraduate "Dual Carbon" Innovation and Creativity Competition (sponsored by Shenhua Baite) held in Shenyang, Liaoning Province, the project titled *"Low-Light Dental Detection, Low-Carbon Intelligent Manufacturing" — A Passive Sensor-Driven Full-Cycle Low-Consumption Carbon Reduction Solution for Remote Dental Testing*, guided by Teachers Wang Ci and Cui Jinhui from the School of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering and completed by students including Nan Jinlong, Kang Yujie, Wang Xinhua, He Changqi, and Jia Lihang, won the National First Prize. This marks the first time the school has claimed the National First Prize in this competition.

Project Name: "Low-Light Dental Detection, Low-Carbon Intelligent Manufacturing" — A Passive Sensor-Driven Full-Cycle Low-Consumption Carbon Reduction Solution for Remote Dental Testing
Team Members: Nan Jinlong, Kang Yujie, Wang Xinhua, He Changqi, Jia Lihang
Advisors: Wang Ci, Cui Jinhui
Addressing the pain points of high energy consumption and high costs in the oral medical field, the project fully leverages the disciplinary advantages of the School of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering. It innovatively proposes a passive sensor as the core, integrating multi-modal data collection of optical, image, and spectral signals, and constructs large AI models based on advanced architectures such as Transformer and Mamba for intelligent diagnosis. The team also independently developed a cloud-based analysis system using Python, successfully building a full-process, low-power remote dental testing platform covering signal acquisition, model inference, and diagnostic recommendations. This platform achieves significant energy conservation and carbon reduction effects, demonstrating the solid professional foundation and outstanding innovative capabilities of the school's students. It effectively reduces the reliance of traditional dental testing on professional equipment and offline diagnosis and treatment, serving as a model achievement of in-depth interdisciplinary integration between physical and optoelectronic technologies and clinical medical needs.

This achievement is not only attributable to the sincere cooperation and diligent efforts of the team members but also inseparable from the strong support of the school in interdisciplinary innovative talent training and research platforms. As the first time the School of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering has won the National First Prize in this competition, the award fully demonstrates the school's positive results in serving the country's major strategic needs and promoting the integration of industry, academia, research and application.
The China Postgraduate "Dual Carbon" Innovation and Creativity Competition is one of the thematic events of the "China Postgraduate Innovation and Practice Series Competitions". Guided by the Department of Degree Management and Graduate Education of the Ministry of Education, it is co-sponsored by the Chinese Society of Academic Degrees and Graduate Education and the China Association for Science and Technology Youth Science and Technology Center. Adhering to the concept of "Creativity Inspires Wisdom, Innovation Drives Development" and focusing on the theme of "Intelligent Dual Carbon, Creating a Shared Future", the competition aims to stimulate graduate students' sense of innovation, improve their innovation and practical abilities, and cultivate innovative talents for the country, society and enterprises.
