The 2025 National College Young Teachers' Lecture Competition for Basic Physics Courses was grandly held at the College of Physics and Materials Science, Tianjin Normal University in Tianjin on July 28. As a national-level event co-sponsored by the College Physics Teaching Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education and the Physics Teaching Committee of the Chinese Physical Society, this competition was hosted by the College of Physics and Materials Science, Tianjin Normal University. After intense competition, Liu Xiaoyu, a teacher from our school, stood out from many outstanding contestants from universities across the country with her excellent teaching performance and won the first prize.

The competition aims to promote the teaching reform of basic physics courses and enhance young teachers' teaching capabilities and professional development. It consists of three core segments: individual lesson preparation, on-site classroom demonstration, and expert Q&A exchange. Participants are required to select one topic from 74 questions covering the Class A knowledge points specified in the 2023 Basic Requirements for College Physics Teaching in Science and Engineering Majors for on-site teaching, which comprehensively assesses their teaching abilities such as instructional design, grasp of academic depth, and classroom interaction skills.

Prior to this, Liu Xiaoyu first participated in the Heilongjiang Division competition hosted by Harbin Normal University on June 7. Competing fiercely with outstanding teachers from Heilongjiang universities including Harbin Institute of Technology, Harbin Normal University, Northeast Forestry University, and Northeast Petroleum University, she won the Special Prize in the provincial competition, thus securing a spot in the Northeast Regional Re-examination. Then, on July 5, she took part in the Northeast Regional Re-examination held by Beihua University in Jilin City. Competing against excellent teachers from universities in Northeast China such as Harbin Institute of Technology, Air Force Aviation University, Liaoning Institute of Technology, Beihua University, Liaoning Technical University, Changchun Normal University, and Dalian Polytechnic University, she claimed the Special Prize in the Northeast Region and successfully advanced to the national finals.

This award not only stands as a brilliant demonstration of the exceptional teaching competence of our faculty member Liu Xiaoyu, but also embodies the fruits of the college's long-standing emphasis on teaching development. By integrating theory with practice, and through case analyses and interactive demonstrations, she has visualized abstract physical concepts, fully embodying the "student-centered" teaching philosophy. This achievement showcases the innovative outcomes of our college in basic physics course teaching, while also highlighting the outstanding teaching standards and professional qualities of our young faculty.

Going forward, the college will continue to explore teaching innovations, enhance the quality of talent cultivation, and make greater contributions to fostering more top-notch innovative talents and advancing the high-quality development of higher education.
