On September 30, 2024, 11 undergraduates from the School of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering of Harbin Engineering University embarked on a two-week study tour at Mahidol University in Thailand. This study tour received strong support from the School of International Cooperative Education of our university, Mahidol University, CP Group, and our college. To ensure the smooth progress of the study tour, the college selected outstanding young teacher Yang Di to lead the team. Liu Lijing, the deputy Party secretary of the college, organized pre-departure education for the students to strengthen their safety awareness.
On the first day of arrival in Thailand, Mahidol University provided meticulous and warm reception, fully expressing its warm welcome to the outstanding Chinese students.

Dean Ding Xuezhong of the School of International Cooperative Education, Dean Cai Chengtao of the School of Intelligent Science and Engineering, Vice Dean Jin Lei of the School of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering, and Minister Guo Feng of the Department of Development and Liaison met and exchanged with the students on the campus of Mahidol University.
Academic Exchange
During the study tour, the students actively participated in academic exchange activities. They entered the classrooms, listened to lectures, took part in seminars, and had in-depth exchanges and learning with Thai teachers and students. In the academic exchange activities, the students not only learned about the latest scientific research achievements and cutting-edge technologies, but also experienced the rigorous academic attitude and profound academic foundation of Thai scholars. They all said that this study tour activity gave them a deeper understanding of the fields of physics and optoelectronic engineering, and also provided valuable experience and inspiration for their future academic research.


Cultural Experience
Apart from academic exchanges, cultural exploration was also an important part of this study tour activity. During the study tour, the students gained an in-depth understanding of Thailand's history, culture, and local customs, and deeply felt the unique charm of Thai culture. The students all said that this cultural exploration activity enabled them to have a deeper understanding and knowledge of Thai culture, and also made them respect cultural differences and appreciate cultural diversity more.

Enterprise Visit
The students also visited the CP Group in Thailand and learned about its corporate culture and development history. The CP Group is a famous multinational enterprise in Thailand, with its business covering multiple fields such as agriculture and animal husbandry, food, retail, and telecommunications. It is one of the important pillars for Thailand's economic development. The students visited the Meiji Milk Factory, the Rice Food Processing Factory and 7-Eleven retail stores of the CP Group, and got to know the advanced technologies and strict management of the CP Group in all aspects such as production, processing and sales. They also had face-to-face exchanges with the enterprise executives and the principals of CP University, and learned about the enterprise's employment standards and career development paths. Through the visits and exchanges, the students deeply felt the entrepreneurial spirit and innovative spirit of the CP Group, and also enhanced their understanding and knowledge of Thailand's economic development.

After two weeks of intense study and exchanges, the 11 undergraduates from the School of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering successfully completed their study tour. At the graduation ceremony, the leaders and professors of Mahidol University spoke highly of the outstanding performance of the students and awarded them with graduation certificates.


This study tour to Mahidol University in Thailand, which brought growth, gains and progress, left a deep impression on the students.

When visiting the streets and alleys of Bangkok, I was pleasantly surprised by the exquisite architecture of Thailand and the rich variety of foreign cultures. During the visit to the Thai countryside, I felt the enthusiasm and friendliness of the Thai people. This experience has made me respect and appreciate the differences and diversity among different cultures more, and also made me cherish and love our own national culture even more. Just as the saying goes, 'Appreciate the beauty of each other, and jointly create a beautiful world.'"
By participating in this study tour, the students not only broadened their international horizons and enhanced their cross-cultural communication abilities, but also deepened their understanding and knowledge of Thai culture. At the same time, this study tour further promoted the exchanges and cooperation between the School of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering and Mahidol University, laying a solid foundation for the future cooperation and development of both sides.
