As a Party member, Lou Cunkai has firm ideals and beliefs and unites more outstanding young people around the Party organization with his exemplary role. He represented the school in attending the 10th World University Student Leaders Symposium in Malaysia, showing the style of contemporary Chinese college students. As the Party branch secretary, he strictly manages the daily education of Party members and has summarized the characteristic working method of the "passing on, helping and leading" postgraduate Party branch. In the form of "individual driving, group interaction and overall linkage", teachers and students, old Party members and new Party members, Party members and league members and the masses jointly study and build together, and the Party members of the branch make progress together. In recent years, more than 40 high-level papers and more than 20 invention patents have been published, and 19 people in the branch have won school-level honors. In response to the national needs for earthquake prevention and disaster reduction as well as earthquake monitoring, Lou Cunkai determined the professional direction of "Research and Networking Technology of Optical Fiber Multi-Parameter Seismic Observation System". He participated in multiple major national scientific research projects as the person in charge of technology or a key technical member, improving the sensitivity of sensors and their tolerance to harsh environments, and providing key technical means and core equipment for earthquake early warning, earthquake damage prediction in China, and the comprehensive risk analysis and assessment of major natural disasters. In October 2019, Lou Cunkai established Heilongjiang Mindong Sensing Technology Co., Ltd. and formed the core product of "High-Precision Optical Fiber Strain Sensing System". In 2023, he successfully reached an investment intention of 3 million yuan with a partnership enterprise, and the company's products have generated good economic and social benefits in the market.
3. Contributing to society and igniting the light of popular science.
Before the college entrance examination, Lou Cunkai had undergone several surgeries. With the help of many parties, he overcame numerous difficulties and was admitted to the long-awaited Harbin Engineering University. This experience made Lou Cunkai always maintain a grateful heart. He is committed to popular science education, formed a volunteer team, carried out popular science lectures, and served more than 10,000 people. He served as the secretary of the Secretariat of the Heilongjiang Youth Science and Technology Education Association, organized a series of activities of "Popular Science Master Classes", invited top domestic popular science experts to conduct more than 30 provincial touring popular science lectures; organized the activity of the Scientists' Spirit Report Group's visit to Heilongjiang, and nearly 10,000 college and middle school students listened to the reports; organized and planned the Sino-Russian youth science and technology innovation research and learning exchange activities to promote exchanges among international youth.
