In order to effectively improve the quality of graduation theses, the School of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering held a lecture on the writing guidance of undergraduate graduation theses in Classroom Yi 01 on April 19, 2024. The lecturer of this lecture was Associate Professor Wang Shengjia, who is in charge of the quality control of undergraduate graduation design (theses) in the college. Wang Shengjia interpreted in detail the "Writing Specifications for Undergraduate Graduation Theses (Non-English) of Harbin Engineering University" and the "Detailed Rules for the Writing Specifications of Undergraduate Graduation Theses of the School of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering", pointing out the direction and requirements for students' thesis writing.

Wang Shengjia first introduced the general requirements for writing graduation theses and emphasized the importance of norms. He pointed out that a graduation thesis is not only an academic document but also a display and summary of students' learning achievements in the four years. Therefore, attention should be paid to rigor, scientificity, and standardization during the writing process. Subsequently, he interpreted item by item the "Writing Specifications for Undergraduate Graduation Theses (Non-English) of Harbin Engineering University", including the format requirements of the thesis, the norms for text typesetting, the norms for citing references and other contents, enabling students to have a clearer understanding of thesis writing.

In addition to the overall school norms, Wang Shengjia also specifically introduced the detailed rules for the writing specifications of undergraduate graduation theses in our college. Starting from the characteristics of the major of Optical and Electronic Information Science and Engineering, he explained some details and skills that need to be paid attention to in thesis writing, such as the methods of data processing and the ways of presenting experimental results, providing students with more specific guidance and advice.

During the interactive session of the lecture, students actively asked questions and consulted Wang Shengjia about the problems they encountered in thesis writing. He patiently answered every question and gave detailed guidance and suggestions based on his own experience. He emphasized that attention should be paid to originality and innovation in thesis writing and encouraged students to be brave in exploration and practice and make their own contributions to scientific research.

The whole lecture came to a successful conclusion in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere, and students all said that they had benefited a lot. Through this lecture, students had a clearer understanding of thesis writing and were full of confidence in their own graduation theses. Meanwhile, they also said that they would carefully follow the norms and strive to write an excellent graduation thesis to bring a satisfactory end to their college careers.

This lecture not only provided valuable writing guidance for the soon-to-graduate undergraduates but also demonstrated the School of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering's emphasis on cultivating students' academic literacy, laying a solid foundation for students' subsequent scientific research and work practice.
