On February 29th, 2024, Hou Lei, the deputy director of the Party Committee's Postgraduate Work Department and the deputy dean of the Graduate School, led a team to visit and conduct research in the college. They held an exchange and discussion on the postgraduate education management and service work. Zhang Yu, the deputy Party secretary and deputy dean of the School of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering, Zhang Lin and Dong Yunji from the Talent Cultivation Office participated in the symposium.

Zhang Yu briefly introduced the basic situation of the reconstruction of the postgraduate education management service system in the college, with a focus on the employment situation of postgraduate counselors. Since October 2023, in accordance with the university's deployment, the college has begun to research and formulate a reconstruction plan for the postgraduate education management service system. After several rounds of discussions and improvements, the plan has been initially drafted. The transformation of the postgraduate education management service model is an important part of the plan.

In accordance with the unified requirements of the university, the college plans to implement the integrated model of the Party, the Communist Youth League, and the class, and optimize the organizational settings of postgraduate classes and the Communist Youth League. Coordinate the roles played by various organizations at all levels such as grassroots academic organizations, academic teams, and tutor groups. Adjust the settings of postgraduate Party branches longitudinally according to academic teams, and set up postgraduate Communist Youth League branches and classes longitudinally, so that the scope of postgraduate students under the jurisdiction of tutor groups, Party branches, Communist Youth League branches, and classes is consistent. Realize the longitudinal integration of the Party, the Communist Youth League, and the class, continuously strengthen the exchanges and interactions between teachers and students within academic teams, and promote the in-depth integration of teaching and scientific research; further play the leading role of Party building, and strengthen the cohesion and combat effectiveness of postgraduate Party, Communist Youth League, and class organizations. According to the scale of postgraduate students in academic teams, a total of 6 postgraduate Party branches have been divided (each Party branch governs 1 Communist Youth League branch and 1 class).

Select backbone Party member teachers with high ideological awareness and strong professional abilities from academic teams to serve as postgraduate counselors, who are responsible for guiding the organizational construction of postgraduate Party, Communist Youth League, and class organizations. The college has hired a total of 12 postgraduate counselors.

Hou Lei pointed out that promoting the reconstruction of the postgraduate education management service system is an important measure for the university Party committee to implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech during his inspection of the university and the spirit of the university's fifth Party congress. It is an important arrangement that adheres to the problem-oriented and goal-oriented approaches, focuses on the problems in the postgraduate cultivation process, compresses the educational responsibilities of teams, grassroots academic organizations and tutors, and improves the construction of the institutional system. It is also one of the key tasks promoted by the university. The college should promptly promote the implementation of the reconstruction plan for the postgraduate education management service system, complete the employment and training of postgraduate counselors as soon as possible so that they can quickly get into the swing of things, play an important role in educating people as the backbone force for the ideological and political education of postgraduate students in the team and as the link and bridge between teachers and students.
